Interviews in this issue:
- Émilie est fleuriste.
While dining with friends, Émilie and her husband
asked what business was needed in Saint-Rémy-de-
Provence. The friends said “florist” and the rest is
history.
- La naissance du Québec.
Professor Mickael Augeron of the University of La
Rochelle told Jean-Louis Roussel about the history
of Quebec, from the first French fishing expeditions
to the exile of thousands of Acadians by the British.
- Les aventures d'Albert.
Jean-Charles Perrazzi tells Louis Gildas about a former
co-worker who was prone to overselling his flying and
fishing skills.
- Encore une tasse de café ?
Despite persistent rumors to the contrary, coffee is
actually good for your health. Dr. Astrid Nehlig
spoke with us about the many benefits of coffee.
- Rémy est papa.
Nathalie Faucher spoke with Rémy about the birth of
his daughter. As his wife prepared to take care of the
baby, Rémy took care of technical and administrative
details, such as checking up on health care coverage
and making sure his car was full of gas for the big
trip (almost 1 kilometer!) to the hospital.
- Lorient et la bataille de l’Atlantique.
Lorient played an important role in the Battle of the
Atlantic : it served as the headquarters of Admiral
Dönitz, head of the U-boat fleet. The huge submarine
base is still standing, but the rest of the city was
razed by Allied bombardments.
